Want to Age Gracefully?
Aging gracefully. There’s no reason to fear aging. It’s going to happen regardless of whether you want it or not. The key is in taking care of your skin so that it looks healthy and radiant no matter your age.

Maturing skin sends all of us to the cosmetic isles looking for something to soften, moisturize or hydrate it. You’re constantly trying a new face serum, eye cream or moisturizer in hopes of warding off fine lines and wrinkles.

Do they always work. No, not at all. However, when you find one that gives you results, you keep it well stocked on your vanity.

Aging Gracefully With Natural Herbs

Yes, I use the term natural. You’d be surprised at some of the ingredients found in skin care products on your shelves. Today, we’re going to concentrate on natural ingredients. Herbs in particular.

Many of the herbs you have in your pantry are used in skin care products worldwide. They can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and dark spots. They are also known to curb inflammation and prevent breakouts.

Let's take a look at a few of them:
Sage - Did you know that some of your favorite packaged herbs for facial steams contain sage. When used over a period of time, a strong tea made from sage leave produces a rinse that has been known to darken graying hair. And you thought it was just for holiday stuffing.

Mint has many uses. So much so, until it is often referred to as the Swiss army knife of herbs. When made into a strong tea, it will help heal dry rough hands. It also makes a good base for bath products. Add mint leaves to bath salts and you’ve got a great uplifting aromatic blend. Mint has been known to energize a tired mind and body.

Milk Thistleis an excellent herb for adding to creams, lotions and facial mask. It’s been known to help prevent skin damage, fine lines and wrinkles.

One draw back with milk thistle is that if you’re allergic to ragweed, you might want to pass on product that contain milk thistle.

Marshmallow’s powdered roots created a thick substance and can be used to add moisture to dry hair and skin. It’s also good when used to soothe sunburned skin and insect bites. It’s also good to use on acne challenged skin and breakouts, especially with adult skin.

Your Turn ...

Time for you to spend some time online finding recipes you’d like to try. No one knows your skin better than you. Use your well deserved time while sheltering in and let us know what you create. Post it in the Ethnic Beauty forum.
